Here's my new to me i6 3.2 XS update thread

A quick search on howmanyleft.com says there's only 27 in the uk in this spec, a few more HSE models but couldn't find one for my price range

Love the car and only downside is 24mpg and a nasty road tax but worth the grin factor when you press the pedal! - FL2 3.2 i6 - There is no Replacement for Displacement

Very nice I have a 57 plate hse, which I have had for 4.5 years.
Would not know what to replace it with if I needed to.
Can get between 25 & 34 mpg on a long run!

I looked at that car before I found my HSE. Low mileage if I remember correctly

Did 160 mile round motorway trip last weekend at got 31.5mpg, which is fine with me. Local trips 4-8 miles it's 18-20.

Disco 3 V8 is only option for me as an upgrade

Hi Charliecloud, I got it from a dealer in Chesterfield, traded in a nice BMW 520d tourer for it

It was in pretty nice condition and a good straight car overall with 63k and FSH

Dealer reduced price by a big wedge, and knocked a further £200 when I nitpicked as rear window wasn't working and osr tyre was low on tread. Window was fixed for £30 (new window module off ebay) and tyre replaced

Ended up with a nice car and a 2 year Warranty Wise cover for under £8k in the end. Havent seen one as cheap without moon and back miles to date

In the process of window tinting (today), and side steps asap. Also added roof rails last week.

Have fully serviced it as well as power steering flush to be on the safe side and added a towbar for camping trailer

Overall delighted for the price paid

I am a bit envious of the HSE spec but there was never one available for £8k!!!

Mines starting to balance out around 25mpg now its getting a longer run, which is fine with me, and the same as my BMW 650ci! - FL2 3.2 i6 - There is no Replacement for Displacement

A few mods later and it looks like this (just tried some winter wheels on to make sure they are balanced ready for winter)

So far it's had
side steps
Tints
Exhaust trims
Clear indicators
Roof rails
Spare winter alloys with winter tyres
Towbar
Clay bar and polish

Next is a rear spoiler that arrived today!

Ronp the i6 is running around 22- 24mpg around town so pretty similar to the d3 manual I had, and on my recent Scotland round trip we saw mid 30s calculated properly rather than the cars computer which said 37mpg doing a steady 75 all the way

Cost of travel is roughly the same I think but my short term feeling is that the wear and tear on the bushes and wishbones etc will be less on the FL as the D3 was such a leviathan of a car and suffered in these areas
I have to say unless I became frugal at the pumps, the i6 is a fantastic smooth powerful clean machine and ticks all the boxes so far

Absolutely loving it

Looking good. Thumbs Up

Ordered a spoiler myself one eve this week then cancelled the following morning.
I'll be hanging my bike rack off the top rear, so reckon would be too much pressure on the spoiler, plus it would foul my kayaks when opened, I do like the look though.

Still only got my Tom Tom blue tacked to the cubby - after seeing yours I must get around to fitting it!

What are the 20's you're putting on? FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

Got my eye on a few sets on eBay at the moment. I'm going for the evoque style. Need to get a set ideally with good as new tyres for around £800 ideally. Plenty about it's just a waiting game!

Tom tom is a 45 minute job with a hot glue gun
Wiring extremely simple and accessible just as described on the forum
Absolutely love the fitment. I added an on off switch so I could manually turn off if required particularly in the evening

Re the rear spoiler it does unit the car, and I have a four rack Thule carrier that clamps onto the towbar so no problems there
With roof bars you should be fine with the kayak if you're careful lifting the tailgate

I definitely wouldn't trust the spoiler to support the weight of anything though, the brackets merely keep it in lace rather than secure it - FL2 3.2 i6 - There is no Replacement for Displacement

Great upgrade this 18” wheelset from Evoque! Looking for something similar to be painted in blak for mine Very Happy

Question: do you think your exhaust could fit a SD/TD4?
I’d like to install the double exhaust but I’m scared to lose the LR warranty so I would prefer to go with a piece manufactured by LR…

Pipewerx in Lathom Lancs would it you a stainless rear box and twin pipes on. Used them a few times they do a great job
Unsure how it would affect your warranty though - FL2 3.2 i6 - There is no Replacement for Displacement

I was thinking to install the exhaust of the Evoque SD4 (no dynamic)... it is designed for the same engine I have and manufactured by LR, but I'm not sure it will fit my FL
