Hi all,
Problem with original xenon headlights.
They're "dipped", pointing low and not levelling themselves at all.
I've checked auto levelling sensors, no visible damage front or rear. No loose connectors on sensors. Fuse ok.
And that's about all I know... any ideas?
Pretty frustrating when low beams lighting only ~10m...

I suppose it's not about levelling motors, since both are not working.

As the fuse is OK, perhaps the Headlamp Levelling Control Module has packed up. You could get the Diagnostic Trouble Codes read. These might point to the trouble.

Her Ladyship had a similar but opposite problem with her Adaptive Xenon Headlights. They were always pointing at Jupiter and Mars

After many failed attempts by various dealers to cure her planet illuminating headlights I decided to take a unit out to investigate myself. So unbolted the headlight and slid it out of the bumper housing. That revealed that the black plastic base plate in which the headlight is held had all of its plastic lugs, and, both front and side bolt retaining holes broken. I checked the opposite side and the very same damage appeared on that side as well. How, and by whom this damage was caused only they themselves would know

So I ordered both plates from the site sponsor Dan@Duckworths: part numbers - LH: LR001542 and RH: LR001541 and once fitted the problem disappeared.

So maybe your headlights are also not sitting properly on these base plates. Just an idea.

Those base plates are just fine.
I also bought OBD code reader (because of Limp mode happened) and there were no fault codes at all

... Limp mode happened on the way to airport, no change when turned engine off. Car was on the airport park for over four days, still on limp mode when we returned. Next day the same. I bought that reader, plugged it, no fault codes found. I still decided to clear all codes (which didn't exist) and though that maybe it's the cheap reader which don't find the code.
I unplugged it and started the engine. It revs perfectly normally

On my mini which has hid auto levelling, the physical adjusters of the light unit were simply set too low, took the car to a flat space against a wall and with the lights running I took an Allen key and adjusted the lights upwards to a more suitable position. Since then it's been perfect since.

No, Freelender's xenons do not that up-down movement after every start. I've had four cars with xenons and two of them did that.
They worked fine last winter/spring, now when nights getting again darker, I relised they don't work properly. You know, it never gets really dark in the summer here in north. So you don't recognise these kind of things then.
I wonder why trere is no fault codes either... could I just manually lift those beams from somewhere? If they show far enough, I really don't care about that auto levelling.

You can adjust them up using the normal adjusters for correcting the beam but this isn't the way the system would do this - the motor adjuster is on the inside.

Which adjuster on top of the light under the bonnet is as below:

Yeah, but if the auto system thinks that it's holding the lights at the correct level, but in reality it isn't, then those adjusters are the way to correct it. That way it'll still think that it's running at the correct level.

I found those adjusters myself. Half turn up-down adjuster screw makes detecable difference, 2-3 turns makes huge movement in beam. Now they're good.
I'll see how it works that way. If it looks that beam stays where it should be, I'm happy.
