United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Auto Stornoway Grey
Recommended Tow Bar Fitter (High Wycombe) area

Hi everyone,
I'm a girlie and very proud owner of my Freelander 2 2007 TD4 SE auto, Stornaway Grey. I've had her a couple of years now and love her. I want to have a towbar fitted for towing a small caravan, so I'm after a professional tow bar fitter in the High Wycombe area. Hubbie could do it, cause he's pretty good with that kind of thing , (he used to have a Defender and a Series III), but we're not sure how much the reversing aid will complicate matters.
Any recommendations or advice would be gratefully received
Many thanks
Elaine

I'm pretty sure that the reversing sensors automatically deactivate on connecting a trailers electrics.....others may know more! From a time when dinosaurs weren't just confined to zoos!

The Towbar won't interfere with the sensors in normal daily use. You have the choice of a bypass relay, but they don't always turn off the Sensors when the van is attached which can be a pain when reversing, unless you have front sensors also which you can then turn them off with the button on the dash.
Genuine electrics when enabled will automatically turn the sensors off when towing, along with the Rear Fogs and with an Auto Box it changes the settings of the gearbox a bit.

It's not a difficult job fitting the Towbar, a Saturday morning with plenty of Tea and he will have it done.
