Most people will attach a key to the car key ring. In some situations this rattles against the plastic metal/wood trim. Could be cured with a rubber insert.

Lack of a lid on console means that the i-pod/phone is left visible. I suspect this generally poor design has been inbuilt so LR can upgrade this as an update in a couple of years time.

Sat nav does not seem logical to use through its menu. Have spent a number of hours sitting in the car with the handbook trying to get to grips with it. My dealer also found it difficult to demonstrate not having had any training. I would have liked a CD demonstrating in a simple visual language how to use it.
Would like to be able to input Ordnance Survey grid references.

Very difficult to see icons on key pad as the unit is all black. Impossible in the dark. Very difficult to remove the emergency key. Poor design.

Fewer storage points than the old Freelander. I miss the small cubby hole to the right of the driver. This was ideal for holding the garage door remote control. The elasticated holder in the door pocket was ideal for holding securely a 2 litre carton of milk. This cannot be achieved in the Freelander 2.

Boot space is still small, even compared with some conventional cars. There is more depth but less height than Freelander 1. I could transport a fridge in FL1 but not in FL2. I would like a more serviceable covering in the boot that does not scratch easily.

Would like close assist on boot lid. Also access through an opening window.

With the light coloured carpet the driver footrest area becomes dirty. Rubber protection required. Come on it's a Land Rover, think muddy boots.

Difficult to see the time. Having to divert your eyes to the radio is an inbuilt safety hazard. The time should be displayed on the central display.

Ive seen these all black keyfobs but mine has white symbols and a red triangle

Jay, Land Rover have to sell cars and adding airsuspension would make the F2 vastly more expensive - don't forget that you don't just have the air springs to engineer in, you have to find somewhere to fit the compressor and an air storage vessel under the car. These also add more weight to what is a relatively beefy car making it less fuel efficeint. If they added airsuspension then the TR could be the same as the D3/RRS/FFRR but Freelander isn't designed to go offroad into the same places as those cars and again you would be adding more cost and more weight as F2 would then also need a transfer box and low ratios................................
I remember talking with LR technical boffins about having air suspension on F2 before it was launched as I would have bought one instead of an RRSport, but they said that demand for such an expensive small car would not justify the extra engineering and production costs. I would rule out all thoughts of F2 / LRX or the next generation Defender having airsprings purely on cost grounds. Also, remember LR were trying to introduce a new car that would take over from one that wasn't renowned for it's reliability - adding something as complex as air springing was almost guaranteeing them loads of problems/ faults. LR's have had air suspension on the more expensive cars since the long wheel based LSE Classic Range Rover, they seem to have got it about right now but there are still cars that have problems with it.
RRSport TDv8 and Supercharged and now FFRR have some trick electro-hydraulically controlled auto disloctaing (for extra wheel articulation off-road) anti-roll bars, when they are working they transform the handling of the car but there are lots of problems with worn bushes and hammer in the hydraulics and most service bays haven't yet sussed out how to fix these problems and LR refuse to accept that they exist....................

With a smaller more "mass market" orientated car like the F2 it was best to keep it simple and get the car more reliable.
