I've had a few Jags in my time but my favourite was the one I had when I first met my wife. It was about 1978 and it was a beautiful (to me) light metallic blue 1966 3.8 S type. Exactly like this one.

I remember I paid £125 for it and after I bought it and looked it over properly I noticed a pair of mole grips clamped onto the drivers front brake hose. I took them off and found out why they were on there - the brake calliper was cracked and leaking! Bought a secondhand one from a scrap yard. Me and my mates went on holiday to Great Yarmouth in once it and while there the dynamo packed up and the battery went flat. We had to, ahem, borrow one from a triumph 2000 to get home. I made sure it was a manual vehicle and I fitted my flat one back on in its place though!
It had leather seats, wooden dash and it even had a wooden pull-out tray in the dash. Only problem was that someone had tried to refurb the blue leather seats with a blue leather dye. When we went out to 'Discos' anyone that sat in the back sweating, in anything light coloured, picked up the dye! Laughing

I remember the timing chain began rattling a bit on tickover and I couldn't be arsed to fix it so I eventually sold it. I can remember what I sold it for too. £50. Big Cry Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
Evoque SD4 Dynamic Lux Auto
Present: Audi A3 S Line.

That reminds me of the time I spilled battery acid on the carpet in the back of my minivan. Cleaned it up and no problem I thought, until a couple of young ladies hitched a lift in the back and their knickers disintegrated... Whistle
Ah to be young again!
