This is my opinion and I have no factual evidence to back it up.....

If you cut the prices on fuel where else is the money to come from for public services?
The countries which appear in my eyes to be the most stable in Europe are those with the highest fuel prices (The UK and the Netherlands)...and taxes. The Netherlands is cheaper than the UK for fuel but has a higher income tax rate.

Germany and France (not to mention the rest) have cheap fuel and lower tax rates, but the countries are far from stable in relation to the economy.

Maybe it's because he is getting nervous for the new "soon to be" arrival.....or maybe cos he thinks he is going to be voted Prime Minister with his 3 votes so far.

Yes we will all be over the moon for him when the little one comes...even if it isn't for the same reason Laughing

I do feel for Mrs CG as she'll have to deal with him a whole lot more Rolling with laughter

Question is, where is the money going from the taxes. These are allegedly "green" taxes (although I gather greenpeace are having a go at the govt for giving green taxes a bad name) - but if they were green taxes they would be used to enable us to make more "green" choices about transport - i.e. invested in for e.g. public transport - but they're not. So where does the money go? MPs "allowances"?

The protest is by the hauliers their fuel costs have risen ridiculously. They are doing a job transporting our goods up and down the country. They do need some sort of fuel duty rebate and need it now, why should they pay so much tax when they are effectively working for all of us?

So as soon as you get to be PM everyone turns on you and corruption allegations begin. I actually feel a little sorry for G.Brown

Didn't actually mean that, although that's how it came out!
Seems to have been a lot of situations recently where integrity is at stake - MPs allowances, using anti-terrorism legislation for stopping dog fouling & checking out school applications, giving licenses for research which was (at the time) illegal... point being that we have very little reason to trust our government.
