Hotels in Dublin

Anybody got a recommendation for hotels in Dublin City Center Question

I normally stay at Jurys Christchurch, but its full on the Saturday

Wanting city center, near Temple Bar area for my parents first visit to the great city I'm paying for as a birthday present

Anybody stayed at "the Clarence" owned by Bono?

i stayed in the Trinity Capital on pearse street (near trinity college) for about 6 months - nice hotel - average food! - but when staying in Dublin there's plenty of restaurants to chose from!
never stayed at Bono's pad but looks nice.

i think I stayed at Trinity Capitol a few years back,

If I did the fire engines at 3am (fire station next door) were a put off to go back, and further down the road was junkie and Working girl central

i had the fire engines on the first night - followed by MC fireman Sam on the mic at 2am! - feckers!
however, i then got moved to the courtyard and on some occasions into the Georgian Suites when i managed to check in before all of my other colleagues. I never heard anything from the fire station after that.

Never seen any junkies in my 6 months i was there, however a few of my colleagues did.
as for the working girls, I never seen them either! Evil or Very Mad Rolling Eyes

When I used to go over on business I would stay at the Red Cow Moran hotel, which is a 4-star hotel and was always nice to stay at, but it is 5 miles or so outside of the centre.

I can't comment on any others as we (company people) always stay at the Red Cow.
